Which Female Anime Character Would You Share an Umbrella With?

In real life, a sudden downpour can just be a nuisance, but one common (and romantic!) trope that appears again and again in anime and manga is when one character ends up sharing their umbrella with another - a moment that transforms the situation into a heart-pounding one. Fans are bound to have their own opinions on the trope, but surely no one would pass up the chance to spend some quality time like that with their own favorite character!

Anime!Anime! asked its readers to reveal who they’d love to get stuck under an umbrella with, with the male results out here. Can you guess which ladies were most popular, though?

7. Hyuga Hinata, Naruto
7. Teresa Wagner, Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai
7. Izumi Kyouka, Bungo Stray Dogs
5. Mouri Ran, Detective Conan
5. Tsukuyo, Gintama

Surprisingly, there’s actually a good mix of both characters and series, from Naruto's shy and sweet Hinata to ruthless detective Izumi Kyouka of Bungo Stray Dogs! It also seems that the places are hotly contested, as there were three tied for 7th place and two tied for 5th place.

3. Takagi, Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san / Elizabeth, The Seven Deadly Sins

In 2nd place, two very different personalities are head to head this time around. Fans seem torn between wanting the relentless teasing (read: flirting) that would come from walking with Takagi, and the forthright elegance and kindness that Elizabeth would offer!

2. Asuna, Sword Art Online

No one can really be surprised at this particular choice! Asuna is already an immensely popular character, so it makes sense that any fan would want the chance to take a long stroll in close quarters with her.

1. Kagura, Gintama

In the end, though, fans are going to have to fight for a spot under the umbrella of Kagura! Winning by a landslide, her complex personality would make the trip unpredictable but fascinating - something to look forward to every time it rains. (You might have to compete with Sadaharu for her attention, though!)

In the end, Gintama won overall by claiming two spots on the list, but all the characters definitely offer something a little different. Do you agree with these choices?
