Ledo is a 16-year-old second lieutenant of the Human Galactic Alliance. Although skilled in battle, he was raised only knowing a life of struggle. Due to such a life, his ability to express his emotions is weak, and he is often misunderstood. During a battle, he is swallowed up by a distortion of time and space and awakes from an artificial hibernation on a remote planet having been saved by Gargantia. Knowing nothing of their language or his new surroundings, he begins to live with the people of Gargantia in order to survive. With his new life, new change develops within his heart.
