Live coals of fate
A girl holds above her head an empty cage with the light of the hopes of humanity and peers into it. “I can’t actually see it, but it’s certainly there,” she says, staring intently at it. The meetings and farewells of the many goldfish attracted to it, reveal the fleeting encounters of human life. I included in this piece the theme of “What leads me in life might not be my own lit resolution.”
