Seven Stars Clock : No 522 / 2019.5

I drew a clock consisting of seven axes based on the different Japanese eras, including Tenpyo, Kokufu, samurai, Edo, Meiji, Taisho, and the present era. The seven-day week, including Sunday and Monday, is a concept that has been used to express time since the era of geocentrism. I also combined other motifs related to the number seven which signify sparkle and spread, such as seven sounds, seven colors, and seven treasures.

The theme of Eshi 100 Exhibit 09 (http://www.eshi100.com/) is “era.”
