Desert of the Moon
This picture is so nostalgic! It’s from 1994. This is an image illustration included in the first individual volume of “Loup Gal” that depicts the world of Gal in a picture book-like way. Far away in the boundless desert lies old ruins. Is the minstrel sitting atop the spirit wolf singing about a collapsed civilization? Or maybe it’s a love song to the moon god? In Japan, there is an old nursery rhyme called “Desert of the Moon.” It is a very beautiful and nostalgic melody and song the plucks the heart strings of Japanese people.
