The vocalist of L’Arc~en~Ciel. Ever since his solo debut on Oct. 17, 2001, he has been energetically continuing his activities. He became very popular after composing “Glamorous Sky,” the theme song of the movie “NANA” in 2005. His singles “Evergreen,” “Hello,” “Countdown,” and “Season’s Call” landed on top of the Oricon Chart at their debut. In April 2006, at the same time of the release of his third album “Faith,” he embarked on the longest tour in the history of his solo career which also had the most performances (50 in total), the all-Japan tour “Hyde Tour 2006 Faith,” which resulting in being a huge success with all venues sold out. In the same period, he also performed live concerts at four different places around the West Coast, each with a 2,000-person capacity. Similarly to Japan, all tickets were sold out, and they were also difficult to get on-site.

In 2009 March, he released his first, self-titled best-of album, “HYDE.”
On Jan. 29, 2012, he published his first official book titled “The HYDE.”

In 1996, he founded Oblivion Dust, which made its debut the next year. He is the guitarist and composer. After “hide with Spread Beaver” (guitar) and “Spin Aqua” (a unit with Anna Tsuchiya), he has assisted in producing HYDE’s songs since 2003.

He composed five songs on HYDE’s third album “Faith,” including the single “Season’s Call,” and also assisted in producing all the songs, making it a powerful teamwork. He is very popular for writing “Satsugai,” the theme song of the movie and anime “Detroit Metal City.”

Even now, he is concurrently participating in various activities, including his activities with Oblivion Dust.
