10 Ankake Gomoku Chahan and Gyoza
You definitely have Chinese food in your town too, and Japan is no exception. Sometimes in a purely Japanese set meal, you’ll find chahan on the menu as if saying “I’m Japanese cuisine you know - I was loved by Daimyo in the Middle Ages”. (I’m pretty sure curry rice is there right next to it too.)
Japanese people love eating rice and we’ve hungrily learned all sorts of rice cooking from throughout the world. Even the greatest discovery in Chinese cuisine’s history - chahan, has been adopted into our own country’s culture without hesitation.
The sight of salarymen eating chahan and gyoza for lunch has come to symbolise this island nation’s cultural open-mindedness which is to say our integrity.
