01 Curry Rice

In the “Tabemonopool” series starting here, I will forcibly connect ordinary but delicious food consumed in modern day Japan with school swimsuits in the middle.
Whether this experimental series will create harmony or disharmony is up to history and those who see it to decide (I, as the author, am betting on harmony).

The dish called curry, which was born in India and went through change in West Europe, has surprisingly strong roots in the hearts of people living in the remotely East land of Japan. Japanese eat curry rice even more more often than they eat sushi.
Because it often appears in cafeteria meals...and because solid curry roux is selling so well, because retort curry is sold in many kinds, because it goes well with rice, and because it goes well with white school swimsuits.
There are countless reasons, but all of them were brewed into Japanese culture in the course of decades. Just like curry, boiled and mixed together.
