Synopsis

Hiyori Suzumi is a high school girl who was raised in the countryside and loves to run. She especially excels at hurdle races. Aspiring to get onto a university’s track and field team, she leaves her hometown and moves to Tokyo, where she begins attending Sakuraoka High School. There, she is coincidentally put into the same class as Yujiro Someya and Aizo Shibasaki, two idols who are known as the popular high school idol group LIP×LIP. But despite the glamorous images of them throughout the city, she witnesses how they actually can’t stand each other. Though she has no interest in idols and doesn’t want to get involved with them, she somehow ends up becoming their apprentice manager! Now, she works hard day after day to do her best as the apprentice manager of an idol group, a world she knows nothing about, while trying to realize her track and field dreams.

Background

Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no O-Shigoto is an upcoming original TV anime being produced by Lay-duce that is based on a song of the same name by HoneyWorks. It is being directed by Noriko Hashimoto and also features Yoshimi Narita who is handling series composition and scripts, Kaori Ishii who is credited as character designer and chief animation director, and Moe Hyuga who is composing the music. The anime’s opening theme song is "Julietta" by the HoneyWorks-produced group LIP×LIP, and the ending theme song is "Tokyo Sunny Party" by Inori Minase, Ayane Sakura, and Saori Hayami. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2022 on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji.

A manga adaptation also launched in January and is being serialized digitally on various manga websites.

Characters

Hiyori Suzumi (Voiced by: Inori Minase)
Hiyori is a first-year student at Sakuraoka High School and a member of the track and field team. She moved from the countryside to Tokyo in order to continue doing track and field. On her first day of school, she meets her classmates Yujiro and Aizo, who are also two members of the high school idol group LIP×LIP, and witnesses them fighting. Not wanting to get involved, she decides to look for a part-time job due to family reasons and ends up becoming the apprentice manager of LIP×LIP. She works hard every day with her track and field activities and her part-time job.

Yujiro Someya (LIP×LIP) (Voiced by: Kouki Uchiyama)
Yujiro is a first-year student at Sakuraoka High School and is classmates with Hiyori. He is also active as an idol with the group LIP×LIP. He has many female fans even at school and tries hard to maintain his image as the perfect idol, but deep down he has a sarcastic side and a sharp tongue. He doesn’t get along with Aizo, who has also been a member of LIP×LIP since the group was formed, and always fights with him, but the two share the same desire to become a top idol.

Aizo Shibasaki (LIP×LIP) (Voiced by: Nobunaga Shimazaki)
Aizo is a first-year student at Sakuraoka High School and is classmates with Hiyori. He is also a member of the idol group LIP×LIP together with Yujiro. Though he’s actually not good with girls, as an idol he has an unshakable cheerfulness in front of his fans. He is athletic and has good reflexes, which makes him a skilled dancer as well. He is always butting heads with his rival Yujiro, but the two share the same desire to become a top idol.

Juri Hattori (Voiced by: Ayane Sakura)
Juri is a first-year student at Sakuraoka High School and is classmates with Hiyori. She is a gyaru who has unbounded cheerfulness and is good at taking care of others. Seeing that Hiyori is having trouble adjusting to school life, she approaches her and the two become friends.

Chizuru Nakamura (Voiced by: Saori Hayami)
Chizuru is a first-year student at Sakuraoka High School and is classmates with Hiyori. She approaches Hiyori and Juri during lunch and they become friends. She has a mature and serious personality, but when it comes to things she likes, she shows an otaku-like zeal and talks a mile a minute.

Nagisa Shiranami (Voiced by: Junya Enoki)
Nagisa is a first-year high school student and Hiyori’s childhood friend from her hometown. The two used to do track and field together in junior high school until she decided to take over her family’s business and began studying to become a chef while attending the local high school. She is a huge fan of Full Throttle4 and plans to visit Tokyo to see them perform one day. She has cherished Hiyori as a friend ever since they were children.

Hina Setoguchi (Voiced by: Momo Asakura)
Hina is a second-year student at Sakuraoka High School and a member of the track and field team. She is a kind senpai who cares about Hiyori. Her and Hiyori both participate in hurdle races. She is childhood friends with Kotaro and lives next to him.

Kotaro Enomoto (Voiced by: Natsuki Hanae)
Kotaro is a second-year student at Sakuraoka High School and a member of the soccer team. He acts a bit mature even since grower taller when he entered his second year of high school. He has feelings for his childhood friend Hina but has yet to act on them.

Ken Shibasaki (Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi)
Ken is a second-year student at Sakuraoka High School who is nicknamed Shibaken. Though he is popular with girls, he has feelings for Arisa and abstains from taking advantage of his popularity. He is Aizo’s brother, though both of them hide that fact.

Arisa Takamizawa (Voiced by: Nao Toyama)
Arisa is a second-year student at Sakuraoka High School. She has a strong sense of justice and loves cute things and cats. Though annoyed by Shibaken’s advances, she is slowly becoming more and more attracted to him.

Kodai Yamamoto (Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
Kodai is a second-year student at Sakuraoka High School and a member of the newspaper club. He is the quiet type who chooses his words carefully. He has been good friends with Kotaro and Shibaken since their junior high days. He likes cheerful girls.

Sena Narumi (Voiced by: Sora Amamiya)
Sena is a graduate of Sakuraoka High School. She was scouted as a reader model while in junior high school and is currently an actress. She appears together with Aizo and Yujiro in the music video for LIP×LIP’s song “Romeo.”

Mona Narumi (Voiced by: Shiina Natsukawa)
Mona is a first-year high school student and an up-and-coming idol who goes by the stage name mona. She is sisters with Sena, but due to wanting to make it on her own merits, she keeps her relation to her a secret.

YUI (Full Throttle4) (Voiced by: Soma Saito)
YUI is a vocalist of the popular singing and dancing group Full Throttle4. He is the cheerful and carefree type who says whatever he’s thinking, which can get him into trouble. He is also a caring big brother to Aizo and Yujiro.

RIO (Full Throttle4) (Voiced by: Yuma Uchida)
RIO is a vocalist and member of Full Throttle4 who has a cool, tough persona. He is able to read the room and acts as the pillar of the group. He also has unexpected sides such as being a skilled cook.

MEGU (Full Throttle4) (Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara)
MEGU is a performer and member of Full Throttle4 who is sly and free-spirited. He loves to talk and is the group’s mood maker. He taught Aizo and Yujiro to dance before they debuted as LIP×LIP.

DAI (Full Throttle4) (Voiced by: Toshiki Masuda)
DAI is a performer and member of Full Throttle4 who is narcissistic and confident. His trademark is his hat. He is also in charge of designing the costumes for the group. He also taught Aizo and Yujiro to dance along with MEGU.

IV (Full Throttle4) (Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama)
IV is the manager and DJ of Full Throttle4. He acts as the group’s leader and gives his utmost to support the four guys behind the scenes. He is also in charge of producing and arranging all of the group’s music.
