Synopsis

Ai Ohto is a 14-year-old girl who is guided by a mysterious voice while out on a late-night stroll and ends up obtaining a strange egg called a “Wonder Egg” from a gacha machine outside an abandoned arcade.

“If you want to change the future, just decide to at this moment. Now, believe in yourself and break the egg.”

The next day, Ai is pulled into another world, and when she breaks the egg a girl appears inside!

Background

Wonder Egg Priority is an original TV anime series animated by CloverWorks and co-produced by Aniplex, NTV, and D.N. Dream Partners. It features an original story and script by Shinji Nojima and is being directed by Shin Wakabayashi with Saki Takahashi credited as character designer and chief animation director and DÉ DÉ MOUSE and Mito composing the music. The opening theme song is "Sudachi no Uta" by Anemonelia, and the ending theme song is "Life is Cider" by Anemonelia. The anime premiered on Jan. 12, 2021 on Nippon TV and Sapporo TV. It is available to stream online through Funimation (North America the British Isles, Mexico, Brazil), Wakanim (Europe), and AnimeLab (Australia, New Zealand).

Ai Ohto Voiced by: Kanata Aikawa)
A 14-year-old girl with heterochromatic eyes. She is currently unable to attend school for some reason.

Neiru Aonuma (Voiced by: Tomori Kusunoki)
A 14-year-old girl with brown skin and long braids. She is quiet and doesn’t talk much, and she doesn’t really try to get involved with people.

Rika Kawai (Voiced by: Shuka Saito)
A 14-year-old girl whose trademark is the pink streak in her blonde hair. She is a good-natured person who isn’t afraid of new people.

Momoe Sawaki (Voiced by: Hinaki Yano)
A tall and slender 14-year-old girl whose trademark is the mole under her left eye. She is sometimes mistaken for a boy and is popular with girls.

Acca (Voiced by: Yuuya Uchida)
The one who led Ai and the others into battle in the Egg World. He is a mannequin that wears glasses and has no face. He is soft-spoken and gentlemanly.

Ura-Acca (Voiced by: Hiroki Takahashi)
He leads Ai and the others to the Egg World together with Acca. He is more casual than Acca in both appearance and manner of speaking, but he sometimes expresses sharp and accurate opinions.

Koito Nagase (Voiced by: Azusa Tadokoro)
A girl who transferred into Ai’s class. She became Ai’s only friend at school.

Tae Ohto (Voiced by: Haruka Shiraishi)
Ai’s mom. She worries about Ai’s truancy but is always there for her.

Shuichiro Sawaki (Voiced by: Masatomo Nakazawa)
The homeroom teacher of Ai’s class. He is the advisor of the art club and is very popular with the female students. He often visits Ai’s house to check in on her.
