OtapediaUnofficial Game - Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

The Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge and its anime adaptation have met an enormous success that eventually led to multiple products related to the series like merchandise, cosplay, and a fanbook. There is currently no news about an official game based on the universe of Demon Slayer. Some of the products that could even come close to an “official game” are, for instance, Sony PlayStation 4 vinyl skin stickers with images of the series, as well as a collaboration with “Monster Strike”, a mobile game that featured various characters from Demon Slayer. However, some simple, unofficial fan-made games have been created and are available for fans to play for free.

Demon Slayer Vinyl Skin Sticker Protector

EBTY-Dreams Inc is a company that specializes in manufacturing anime dakimakura (full size pillows with images of different anime characters) and video game decal sticker skins for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Wii U. This company is the only authorized seller of the Demon Slayer vinyl skin sticker protector for Playstation 4 that can be bought by Amazon.

This product is resistant to scratches and is also anti-collision. Thus, it can effectively protect the console as well as the controllers from any kind of abrasion or break. If the controllers or console already have some scratches on them, these decals can simply cover them up and prevent further damage, all while giving the console a stylish new look that is based on the Demon Slayer series. These adhesive stickers can allegedly be used for a very long time and are easy to apply and remove without leaving any residue.

Monster Strike and Demon Slayer collaboration

On February 12, 2020, the XFLAG smartphone game called Monster Strike confirmed that this game would start a collaboration with Demon Slayer from February 12, 2020 until March 2, 2020.

The game will featured five of the Demon Slayer Corps members from the series (Tanjiro, Giyu, Shinobu, Zenitsu and Inosuke) with their respective powers. The user can also get some extra rewards, like an in-game Pillar stamp.

However, the Demon Slayer Corps members are not the only characters featured in this collaboration, since also Kibutsuji’s Servants also appear, such as Yahaba and Susamaru, as well as the Swamp Demon, the Hand Demon, Kyogai, and Rui also appear.

As a login bonus and for completing a special mission, players can obtain Nezuko Kamado in her box. As the player levels Nezuko up, she will eventually come out of her box.

Demon Slayer Unofficial Games

A great amount of Demon Slayer fans around the world are interested in playing a game based on their favorite series. For this reason, some of them decide to create their own game and share it with the world. Since all of these games are unofficial and often made by inexperienced developers, these games are often released as an application or a simple computer game. Many of them are also in constant development, allowing users to discuss their opinions and ideas about how the game could be improved through forums and comments.

Kimetsu no Tansaku (Demon Slayer Investigation)

This fan-made game was posted on RPG Atsumaru, Nico Nico Douga’s game page. It was created by Ikazuchiyume and was posted on November 9th, 2019. The game itself plays similarly to a game created in RPG Maker like Ao Oni, Yume Nikki, and To the Moon. The player controls an original character (whose default name is Mihiru, but can be changed). The player must go around a seemingly abandoned house and collect items that will allow them to progress further. On their adventure, they will run into various characters from the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) series, most notably Zenitsu and Tanjiro.

Demon Slayer Roblox

Roblox is an online multiplayer platform where users can create their own virtual world with block-shaped characters and objects. Since October 2019, it has more than 5,000,000 creators and more than 100 million monthly active players who have registered more than 450 million hours of gameplay in total.

In Roblox there are several users that have created various worlds based on the Kimetsu no Yaiba series, and each one of them has different controls and options. Creators can also update their worlds regularly and can discuss them with users through a forum.

Reddit

On websites like Reddit, fans of a TV series, movies, or any other sort of interest can debate about the latest news related to their favorite subjects. Reddit is often a place used by some to post fanart, fanfiction, and other fan-made content as well. Sometimes, official accounts use this platform to provide exclusive information and interact with the fans. Users can discuss fan theories and suggest various ideas for projects that they would like to share with others. Of course, Demon Slayer is no exception. Some Reddit users have posted in r/KimetsuNoYaiba to talk about how they would like a game inspired by the series to work.

A simple fan-made game has also been posted in this subreddit. It was posted by user Nostra Damon and is simply titled “Nezuko Run”. The game involves the player controlling Nezuko as she runs away from Kanao Tsuyuri. Kanao will try and attack Nezuko and the player must use the arrow keys to make Nezuko jump and duck to avoid being hit.
