Laura Bodewig is a genetically engineered super soldier and a first year student at the IS Academy where she is the IS Cadet Representative of Germany in the hit light novel series written by Izuru Yumizuru with illustrations by Okiura and Choco, Infinite stratos, which was also adapted into a hit TV anime by 8-Bit.

Laura is also the commander of the German IS Special Forces, also known as the “Schwarzer Hase,” and pilots the Schwarzer Regen IS which is a medium to long range artillery model equipped with several remotely guided tethers and a powerful yet slow railgun plus an “Active Inertial Canceller” which can be used to stop enemy projectiles.

She also wears a black eyepatch over her left eye which glows yellow due to a failed nanomachine experiment. “Laura Bodewig” is actually a code name chosen by the German military who artificially created her using human DNA. She also has a sister, Chloe Chronicle, who is able to infiltrate a person’s mind through virtual reality.
