Chest Piece Fits Strange - Rest of Figure is Stunning
27 Nov. 2016Permalink

The proportions on the figure i received are not as advertised. Mainly, I ran into issues with the way the chest piece fits on the figure. It sits very high, making the neck and head appear "sunken" into the shoulders, and making the torso very long. Otherwise, I love the flexibility and versatility. I was pleasantly surprised with how I could "mold" the figure into so many realistic looking poses! Also, the stand is sturdy so I have not had any issues with the figure falling over. I am satisfied with the product other than the strangely fitting chest piece that makes the proportions of the figure look strange.

I'm planing on using him as an art reference and I think he's gonna work out perfectly. Came super well packaged and super fast.

Fantastic Figure!

That figure is really helpful for my drawings. The proportions are really nice. The figure is a little bit small but more useful that those cheap wooden models for artists. It's a must have if you have some troubles with proportions and perspective.

I love it.

I will be seriously consistent with these.

Let my buddy use my points to buy this for himself
29 May. 2017Permalink

And his review is as quoted below...
"Really nice! I think I might have been too tough on the neck. He can't look upward (normally), I've seen the joint become slightly white...I'm going to take care of it, otherwise the posing is awesome, easy to use, and poses look nice, even more than the ones I can do with my Hitman action figure(Playarts Kai Hitman:absolution)..."

Other than the fact its his first figma(which he bought as an art tool), he was a bit rough with it and managed to break the neck joint... as long as he doesn't resell it, he thinks it should be good with a dab of loctite on it...but at least he likes it!

very cool figure!!!

male model for drawing
04 Apr. 2017Permalink

I really like this model for drawing. I dont mind that its small, i actually like it more than my other models because i can stick him in my purse on the go. His shoulders are a bit too large for his figure but easy to overlook. quality feels good. not like the cheap ones off Ebay. I think i would have liked him in grey better, but the flesh isnt too bad for drawing. good buy all around!

Good figure

Hips joints could be better, they are too close together, making some poses impossible. Knees, ankles are good. Arms and shoulders are good. Neck joint is quite poor, head situated too far forward and little mobility. Torso is a bit long but satisfied with the articulation. Overall a suitable figure, good for reference and posing.

good for anatomy (if you know what you're doing)

the articulation is great! very flexible. however, many holes and joints are painfully obvious. if you want him artistically, i would only get him as a pose source and not an anatomy source.

Good reference

Torso sits a little high up and you don't get a lot of movement of the head/neck, but is otherwise easy to use

It was great

Shoulders are a lil hugh, but still very useful for art

It does its job
15 Jan. 2017Permalink

As a big fan of figma, I am a little disappointed in the quality of these art figures, but they do fuction as intended. They just feel a little flimsy, and their shoulder joints are really awkward, I don't know how to describe, it but yeah.

Good Artist Mannequin
12 Jan. 2017Permalink

Archetype Next: He is a nice artist's mannequin. He was a bit smaller than I expected, but I can see now that he actually works really well at his size (portable!). He's a little bit stiff, and it's harder to move him around than his She counterpart, but you get used to it after a bit. And he has great detailing for anyone needing help drawing musculature.

Great detail

I absolutely loved how detailed this figure is. Unlike the previous Archetype, this figure is more based off of a realistic body and not an anime body. This is an excellent addition to any artist out there who cannot go to live figure posing classes. I loved how it was neatly wrapped and arrived safely. Thank you Otaku Mode!

Broke on first day.
02 Jan. 2017Permalink

Unfortunately the figure, which was to be used as a model for drawing, broke the first day while we were trying to pose it. We also have a female version and have not had any issues with that figure and the posing of it. I am not sure why the arm joint snapped so easily as it seems you should be able to move the joints without it breaking.
