About Me

Cosplay, Photography / Japan

I debuted as a cosplayer at Comic Market 75 in December 2008. From the beginning, I knew two things: that I wanted to cosplay as characters I like, and that I wanted to do it to the best of my ability. Before I knew it, I found myself becoming a cosplayer who expresses female characters. Of course, I also cosplay as male characters. Furthermore, I am active in both cosplay and cosplay photography. Aside from pursuing my hobbies, I am currently studying at law school every day in order to pass the bar exam and become a lawyer.

    About My Cosplay

It’s unfortunate, but most males who cosplay as females are discriminated against. I have faced a lot of discrimination and trouble myself. People find it disgusting, cameramen will deliberately avoid me, and I can’t even enter events.
However, no one can rival the passion I have to express my work. I want to prove this through my work.
Even though I am male, I can still express female characters.
Even if I am not sponsored by companies or organizations, I can still produce work that will move people.
Above all, everyone has the chance to stand on the sparkling stage.

It is my hope that my cosplay activities would be an inspiration for all cosplayers.
My photo book “Go Beyond the Time”, which was published in December 2012, expresses my sentiments exactly.

I photograph various cosplayers using my Nikon D700. I have three lenses: Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G, TAMRON SP AF 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di, and TAMRON SP AF70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD.
I also have two Nikon SB-600 strobes. The number of cameramen who will photograph a guy cosplaying as a girl are very few, and even though I am always looking for a cameraman to help me as a partner in my cosplay work, it has been very difficult. So, even though I wanted to capture beautiful cosplay pictures, I couldn’t find a cameraman. Therefore, in order to strengthen myself as a cosplayer, I began taking photos.
I aim to produce work making full use of both my cosplaying and photographing abilities.
