How’s everybody’s otaku life? Good? We hope so! Summer is coming to an end here in Japan, and it’s becoming much cooler. So few days remain of 2015. In these last three months, you will all still be watching anime along with us, right? To help you choose what anime you’ll be watching this fall, we’ve prepared collections of trailers. This first collection is of action and sci-fi anime. Please take a look!
Noragami Aaragoto
Season one of the hugely popular anime Noragami debuted in January 2014. Finally, season two will return this October. As the curtain is pulled back a bit on the new season, not only is a new chapter revealed, but also that the humourless, businessman Ebisu is sure to return and that new characters are guaranteed. Not to mention, the poor, minor God Yato is still being hunted down by Bishamonten….
Concrete Revolutio
In Concrete Revolutio gigantic aliens, super robots, and phantom-like superhumans actively reside in a Japan set in a fictional “Age of Gods” some 20 years after the end of WWII. At the same time as superhumans are saving lives and holding destruction back, mysterious events continue to occur. The “Superhuman Bureau” is established by the government in hopes of being able to manage such superhumans. A normal human and member of the Superhuman Bureau named Jiro Hitoyoshi struggles greatly day in and day out to maintain order within the public!
Comet Lucifer
Sogo is a boy who enjoys collecting rare crystals as a hobby. One day, he is suddenly caught up in a fight and ends up losing his way. He happens to find a profound underground lake has traces of ore. There he meets a mysterious girl who has two-toned blue and purple hair and red eyes. “What could such a girl be like?!,” he wondered. At that very moment, a door leading to adventure was swung open!
Young Black Jack
*Young Black Jack* is based on Osamu Tezuka’s masterpiece Black Jack and is a story about the earlier years of genius surgeon Black Jack. It is set in the 1960s while Black Jack, who at that time was known as Kuro Hazama, was perfecting his skills as a medical student. How could it be that he became an unlicensed surgeon working illegally and hidden from the public for exorbitant amounts of money!? The secrets of Black Jack will be revealed!
Lupin the Third
Thirty years after Lupin the Third Part III, another Lupin the Third TV anime series has begun anew. This time, the anime is set in Italy and San Marino. What might the swift, elusive, big-time thieves Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon be after? We might not be able to answer that just yet, but we do know that this time the anime begins with Lupin… getting married! Don’t miss the action of Lupin III, the biggest thief of the century!
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen
In 2006, an anime adaptation of the PC game Utawarerumono (2002) debuted. Now, the series will make a return with Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen set to broadcast this year. The anime is set in “Yamato.” The anime begins in snowy mountains with main character Haku being rescued by a young girl from a giant bug-like creature with enormous tusks. The moment the two meet, the story truly takes off.
Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
Ikki goes to an academy for Mage Knights who fight by turning their souls into magic swords, but due to his ineptness as a Mage Knight and the fact he was held back a grade he was known as the “Worst One.” But one day he surprisingly wins in a match against the A-class knight (number 1), Stella. It turns out Ikki has mastered the art of the sword in place of magic! Keep your eyes on Ikki as he overcomes his lack of magic ability and works his way up from the bottom, overcoming one formidable opponent after the next!
Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA
Akari is a cheerful girl, though lousy student, who attends Tokyo Butei High, a special school that trains detectives who exercise military force. With her eyes set on long, one-on-one training with her admired upperclassman, Aria, Akari grips a gun…!
AntiMagic Academy "The 35th Test Platoon"
One hundred and fifty years have passed since the Witch Hunt War. Takeru uses swords, an old-fashioned practice in the present time, and is a student of the AntiMagic Academy, an institute that trains Inquisitors of Heretics who crack down on the threat of magic. As such, Takeru is relegated to the 35th Test Platoon, a rag-tag group of poor students. One day, none other than Oka, who is already active as a Heretic Inquisitor, joins his platoon.
The Testament of Sister New Devil Burst
The second season of The Testament of Sister New Devil, which broadcast earlier this year from January, is finally starting! After battling Zolgear, who fought for the power to control water, peaceful days had returned for Basara and the rest, but one day they are attacked suddenly by people who can use magic. To protect those who are important to him, Basara charges into battle!
Garo: Guren no Tsuki
Raised under the tutelage of Makai Priest Seimei to become a Makai Knight, Raiko patrolled daily in order to protect everyone who lives in the city. Then there are the Horrors - which spring forth from the darkness that swirls around ancient Kyoto to devour the souls of humans! What will Raiko and the others face off against? The second anime in the Garo series finally begins!
K: Return of Kings
The first season of the anime in 2012, then a movie in 2014, and now season 2 of the anime. In a present day Japan that has a slightly different history than reality, there exists seven people known as “Kings” who have tremendous supernatural abilities. Reiji the “Blue King” held great responsibility on his back. Mix in the expectations of each of the “Kings” and we’re in for some developments that will shake up the story…!
Monster Strike
An anime based on the popular game app Monster Strike. Self-proclaimed mysterious transfer student Ren returns to a town he previously lived in but has no recollection of. Meanwhile, an unknown game starts installing on his smartphone. Through the game’s battles, Ren gets closer to the truth of unlocking his memories...
Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider
Hoping to catch a glimpse of Shiki, a genius programmer who leads a completely reclusive life in a research lab, Sohei and Moe visit the lab and there encounter something awful. What they find appearing from Shiki’s room, a room which no one should be able to enter, is a dismembered corpse in a wedding dress.
