A long promotional video for Kill la Kill, the newest anime by the extremely strong tag team of director Hiroyuki Imaishi ( Gurren Lagann ) and scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, has finally been released. The anime is set to begin broadcasting on Oct. 3.
Kill la Kill is the first TV anime series by the animation studio Trigger (president: Masahiko Otsuka), which Imaishi helped establish after he left Gainax. Moreover, it has already become a huge topic due the staff lineup that includes incredible creators such as Sushio, Shigeto Koyama, and Yō Yoshinari. The long PV for the anime that was recently released surpasses 3 minutes. As expected, the anime looks intense and stirring, and it appears that it won’t betray fans’ expectations!
Keeping with the anime’s catchphrase, “Will You Kill or Be Killed?” the anime seems to be a white-knuckle, blood-spurting school action work. The PV effectively communicates Imaishi’s concept, even down to showing a drill-like object that looks like something out of Gurren Lagann! Many fans have already expressed their impressions on Twitter, saying things like, “The outfits are so skimpy!” and, “Hot!” and, “The tension is extremely high.”
Fans will be able to see the completed work just before its broadcast begins at a special screening event to be held in Shinjuku on Sept. 28.
