Sword Art Online Progressive Film Set For Fall 2021 Release!

Upcoming anime film Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night is now set to premiere in Japan this fall!

Aniplex announced the news on March 27 at a presentation for anime event AnimeJapan 2021, where the film's second key visual and teaser video was also released.

The presentation also revealed that Minori Inase will voice Mito, a new character who will make her first appearance in the upcoming film.

Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night is an adaptation of Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series, a reboot of Sword Art Online's Aincrad arc. It will follow the recently concluded Alicization series, retelling the events of the Aincrad arc from the very beginning.

Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night will premiere in Japan in fall 2021. It is also slated for a North American release sometime in 2021.
