A mysterious Pokémon has been appearing in Pokémon GO for the past few days. These have been turning out to be Dittos or other Pokémon in disguise, but just what is happening?
Trainers got a little more information through a helpful conversation between Professor Willow and Professor Oak in a new video on the Pokémon YouTube channel which you can check out below!
According to Professor Oak, it's a Mythical Pokémon named Meltan that has been seen before in ancient texts. While there's still a lot to find out, what we know now is that its body is composed of liquid metal. Using its liquefied limbs, it can corrode metal and take it into its own body. Apparently it’s also carefree, curious and has a lot of charm!
While it hasn't officially been revealed how to catch this mysterious new species, it looks like Trainers will need to connect their Pokémon GO account to the upcoming Pokémon: Let’s Go! Pikachu!/Eevee! RPG games on Switch in order to catch it in the latter titles.
