Anime!Anime!'s surveys have covered ideal characters as ranked by both genders, with results for female characters (male fans/female fans) and male fans' favorite male characters already out. Wotakoi’s atypical otaku has obviously won fans’ hearts for his mature and thoughtful approach to his hobby. Taro has good taste and is hugely into manga and games but takes the time to research new characters before getting into them and worries about the ethics of problematic genres!
2. Todoroki Shouto, My Hero Academia / Nifuji Hirotaka, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku
It’s a tie for second place with My Hero Academia's aloof hero Todoroki Shouto and Wotakoi’s out and proud otaku Nifuji Hirotaka! This time around, it looks like strong and silent is the theme for the runners up.
1. Amuro Tooru / Furuya Rei, Detective Conan
And the winner is… Detective Conan's mysterious investigator Amuro! Sailing into first place, Amuro seems to have ignited female fans' imaginations with his duplicitous charms and his more secretive sides.
