Virtual YouTuber Kizuna AI Lands First Anime Voice Acting Gig!

The world's first virtual YouTuber Kizuna AI will be taking on her first official anime voice acting role in magical girl horror anime Magical Girl Site!

Interestingly enough, since the voice actress behind the famous Kizuna Ai is still anonymous, her role as site manager Hachi will be credited to the virtual Youtuber herself. Her channel A.I. Channel first came online in Dec. 2016 and has since exploded in popularity with millions of viewers and subscribers.

Created by Satou Kentarou, Magical Girl Site was first serialized in Champion Tap! from 2013 to 2017; now, however, it is currently being serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion.

It follows the tale of a bullied student named Asagiri Aya who suffers from problems both at home and at school. One day, a strange person on the internet insists that she has been granted powers - a reality that seems impossible until the next day at school, where Asagiri uses a magical gun to shoot those who are bullying her. Only later does she find out that all those who were shot had died in a train accident, and that she isn’t the only one with these dangerous and gruesome powers.

The Magical Girl Site anime adaptation will premiere on Apr. 6 on MBS, TBS, BS-TBS, and other networks.
