The upcoming live action movie JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Chapter 1 has unveiled a set of new character PVs!
The first one focusses on Higashikata Josuke a.k.a. JoJo (Yamazaki Kento), a high school student with a majestic pompadour who takes it upon himself to protect Morioh from malevolent Stand users. We also get a glimpse at JoJo’s Stand, Crazy Diamond, the manifestation of Josuke’s kindness who has the ability to restore things to their previous state, including healing wounds.
The next one captures the unusual relationship of the amiable but meek transfer student Hirose Koichi (Kamiki Ryunosuke) and Yamagishi Yukako, who is obsessed with him. The PV even includes the scenes where Yukako tells Koichi, “If you get bad grades, it’s my responsibility. My pride won’t allow such a thing”, and when she asks him if he noticed something different about her.
The third one focuses on the Nijimura brothers, Keicho (Okada Masaki) and his little brother Okuyasu (Mackenyu). While Okuyasu is prone to act without thinking, Keicho always keeps a level head, as reflected in his line, “After you finish listening to a CD, you put it back into its case before listening to the next one, right? Everyone does that, I do that”.
The antagonist featured in chapter one is Angelo (Yamada Takayuki), a serial murderer who indiscriminately uses his Stand, Aqua Necklace, on anyone who stands in his way, crushing them from the inside. Will Josuke be able to stop him?
And last but not least, we get to see Kujo Jotaro (Iseya Yusuke), the third JoJo and Joseph Joestar’s grandchild. Although he’s older than Josuke, he’s technically Josuke’s nephew. In the PV, he uses his Stand, Star Platinum, to save Josuke from Angelo’s Aqua Necklace with its Time Stop ability.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Chapter 1 made its premiere at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival 2017 in Switzerland, where it received the RTS Audience Award. The movie opens in Japanese cinemas on Aug. 4.
