Worried you’ll have nothing to do after checking out the Jul. 14 premiere of the live-action Gintama film? Don’t be! An original live-action drama will be available for streaming the day after!
Beginning July 15, a streaming service in Japan called dTV will be offering all three episodes of the Gintama drama. Centered around a serious tale dealing with the Shinsengumi, you’ll get a closer glimpse at members such as Kondou Isao, Hijikata Toushirou, and Okita Mitsuba.
Fukuda Yuuichi, the director of the live-action film, was also in charge of the directing and script for this drama. You won’t have to bother with adjusting to new faces either, because the same actors and actresses cast in the film were also approached for the drama!
If anything, it’ll feel like a bonus side-story to the film you just watched~ While you’re on dTV, don’t forget to check out the episodes they offer for the Gintama TV anime series. Starting June 1, they’ll be adding episodes 237 to 265!
