Live Action Fullmetal Alchemist Unveils New Visual!

The new visual to the upcoming live action movie Fullmetal Alchemist has been revealed on the movie’s official site!

The visual features the Elric brothers looking ahead at the long journey awaiting them along with the motto “Two brothers, bonded by a body of steel”. You can even see Flamel’s sign on both Ed’s signature crimson coat and Al’s shoulder.

The movie was shot in Italy to perfectly capture the world of Fullmetal Alchemist, which is also prominent in the visual. There are traces of the presence of alchemists all over Europe, and even the church featured in the film had such signs, making it the perfect venue.

Serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan between 2001 and 2010, Fullmetal Alchemist is a hugely popular manga that sold more than 70 million copies. It was later adapted into two anime series (2003 and 2009) and two anime films (2005 and 2011).

Original author Arakawa Hiromu drew the adventures of the Elric brothers with the sentiment that she would like to show it to her child someday, and she probably won’t be the only one to do so, seeing the love and support the series gets from all around the world.

In addition to the visual, two events were announced, as well: A fan event with the voice cast of the anime and the cast of the live action movie scheduled for July 12, the day the first chapter was published, and the first large-scale Hagaren exhibition which will open at the Tokyo Dome Gallery AaMo and the Nanko ATC Museum in Osaka. What better way to pass the time until the movie is out?
