Poster visuals for the live-action film Neko Atsume no Ie have been released along with comments from the supporting cast.
Two versions were released: a cat version and a cast version. The cat version features protagonist and light novelist Ito Atsushi (played by Sakumoto Masahiro) surrounded by cats. The cast version includes Ito, heroine and editor Michiru (Kutsuna Shiori), the eccentric real estate agent (Okubo Kayoko), Michiru’s senior editor Asakusa (Taguchi Tomorowo), and pet shop owner Yoko (Kimura Tae).
The mood of the film is alluded to in comments from the cast. Taguchi said, “I’ve always enjoyed watching the free spirit of cats, so for me, this is a really relaxing movie.” Kimura said, “You won’t be able to look away from how sweet the cats are.” Okubo’s comment reflected on filming, saying, “It was like we were filming in a different dimension. It was fun, and the cats were, of course, adorable.”

“I worked on a TV drama directed by the brilliant Kumashiro Tatsumi a long time ago with Kurakata Masatoshi when he was an assistant director. His sincere and straight-forward approach to directing hasn’t changed at all, so I was able to relax and take on the filming, and we made a little, sweet film. I’ve always enjoyed watching the free spirit of cats, so for me, this is a really relaxing movie. I hope everyone else feels that way, too!”

“The only smartphone game I’ve gotten into is Neko Atsume, and somehow I was able to get an unbelievable role in this unbelievable adaptation. That small world where you just collect cats has been turned into a human drama…although there’s still some cat collecting, of course. There are even goods of my favorite character doing Heavy Rotation. It was like we were filming in a different dimension. It was fun, and the cats were, of course, adorable."
