With the Jan. 21 release of Kuroshitsuji: Book of the Atlantic right upon us, a cruise party titled Kuroshitsuji Cruising Party ~Sono Shitsuji, Shukkou (The Butler Sets Sail) was held on Jan. 14 and 15, during which Book of Atlantic was shown. Around 2,000 fans set sail on this cruise from Tokyo’s Hinode Pier. It offered an amazing view of the Tokyo Bay over four hours and was held a total of four times over the two days.
The weather was great for both days, and each morning was packed with fans. The dress code was semi-formal, and fans were also allowed to cosplay. In addition to Ciel and Elizabeth cosplays, there was everything from kimono to Chinese formalwear.
As the Symphony Moderna passenger boat began boarding, everyone was separated into one of two groups: one for watching the film, and one for enjoying a French meal.
Dressed as Ciel, Sakamoto Maaya greeted everyone saying, “In addition to showing the film Kuroshitsuji: Book of the Atlantic, which will finally be opening on Jan. 21, this party is being held on board so everyone can experience the atmosphere of the liner in the movie for themselves. This trip is just under four hours, but please enjoy yourselves and relax.” She then commanded, “This is an order for Sebastian. Everyone here is an important guest to me. Treat them well and don’t bring shame upon the name Phantomhive.” Ono Daisuke, who plays Sebastian, responded, “Yes, my lord. Well then, everyone, let the party begin. Set reality aside for this short while until we return to the port, as I guide you to first-rate entertainment that will weave together the young master, a luxurious liner, and moving corpses.” With that, the ship, decorated to make you feel like you were in Kuroshitsuji on the Campania, departed from the Hinode Port.
The group watching the film first listened to Ciel’s announcement: “Rumors of revival made possible… that the secret society Aurora may have found the method of ‘mankind’s perfect salvation.' Please enjoy the entire story of what happened aboard the Gouka Kyakusen Campania.” They were then able to watch the 100-minute film.
The other group enjoyed a complete French meal while taking in a beautiful view of Tokyo Bay. Among other beautiful French dishes, the hors d'oeuvre were Butler Sebastian’s Hospitable Salmon and Mozzarella Circles, all served while background music from Kuroshitsuji played in the background.
The evening cruise gave passengers a chance to enjoy the night view. Sebastian said at the Tokyo Gate Bridge, “Everyone, if you look ahead on your right side, you’ll see the Tokyo Gate Bridge.” Ciel then responded, “The view of London at night is nice, but the lineup of Tokyo Bay is also worth seeing.” Having returned to the Rainbow Bridge, passengers gathered on the deck terrace to capture the night view of Odaiba and Tokyo Tower, and also enjoyed taking photos with the phoenix pose that appears in the film.
Once the ship returned to Hinode Port, Ciel announced, “Did everyone enjoy today’s party? I’m truly happy to have seen everyone today. I’d like to move forward together so as not to tarnish the Phantomhive name and to meet the expectations of all those who support us. Thank you for your continued support.” Sebastian then continued, “And with that, today’s program has come to a close. I would like to thank everyone who came today.” Everyone then departed the ship with wonderful memories of their satisfying evening.
