“My Hero Academia” to Broadcast in April 2016 in “Nichi-5” Timeslot

Broadcast information has been revealed for the new spring 2016 TV anime My Hero Academia. The anime will broadcast on 28 networks throughout Japan including MBS and TBS at 5:00 p.m. every Sunday, a timeslot known as “Nichi-5.” You can currently enjoy during this popular timeslot Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and it was during this anime that the news on My Hero Academia was announced.

The “Nichi-5” timeslot during which the anime will broadcast has been home to countless popular anime including Fullmetal Alchemist and Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, among others. The anime in this slot prior to Iron-Blooded Orphans was Haikyu!! based on the original series from Weekly Shonen Jump which broadcast from April to September 2015. The fact that it’ll be on air across the country at the same time will likely draw attention to My Hero Academia.

In addition to the broadcast information, an announcement was also made regarding a special stage event to be held at AnimeJapan 2016, one of the largest anime conventions in the country. Taking the stage on March 27 at Tokyo Big Sight will be main character Izuku Midoriya played by Daiki Yamashita, All Might played by Kenta Miyake, Katsuki Bakugo played by Nobuhiko Okamoto, Ochako Uraraka played by Ayane Sakura, and Tenya Iida played by Kaito Ishikawa. To see this event you’ll need an advance admission ticket to AnimeJapan 2016 that comes with a lottery entry into the stage event. Tickets cost 1,600 yen (including tax) and will be on sale until Feb. 21. What kind of conversation can we expect from the cast right before the anime goes on-air?

My Hero Academia is a “school hero action” manga by Kohei Horikoshi currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.
