The Japan release of the first movie in the Kizumonogatari trilogy, Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu-hen (Blood and Iron), is just around the corner on Jan. 8. Since fans will finally get to see with their own eyes this work first announced back in 2010, there are, as expected, many people looking forward to it.
It has been confirmed that moviegoers to the movie will receive as a present an exclusive novel written by NisiOisiN titled Mazemonogatari. The novel is the first to crossover the Monogatari series with characters from novels he had written previously. Different parts of the novel will be given out over a consecutive 4-week period.
The contents of the novel for the first week that fans are curious about will feature character Kyoko Okitegami from the Boukyaku Tantei series. The series is a detective mystery that follows main character Kyoko Okitegami, a beautiful ashen-haired girl whose memory resets when she falls asleep, as she solves various cases in about a day. In addition to getting a manga adaptation in 2015, it was also adapted into a TV drama starring Yui Aragaki. It is an extraordinarily popular series.
The novel’s story begins with Koyomi Araragi discovering a sleeping Kyoko in Namishiro Park. Kyoko has forgotten the answer to a case she had been working on, and Koyomi begins to help her. It’s a story readers of both works will be interested in.
This bonus item will be handed out in theaters beginning on Jan. 8. From week 2 onward a new bonus item will be given out beginning every Saturday. Quantities are limited, so those who want one should get to the theater early. Fans are also curious about the collaborations we’ll see in the novel from week 2 onward. Speaking of author NisiOisiN, he is known not just for the Monogatari and Boukyaku Tantei series, but for many other popular works as well including the Zaregoto series, Katanagatari, and Densetsu series to name a few.
