Naruto Concludes After 700 Chapters, New Short-Term Naruto Serialization Announced for Spring 2015

The serialization of Masashi Kishimoto’s popular manga Naruto, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) since September 1999, has come to an end after 15 years. Chapters 699 and 700 were published simultaneously in Issue 50 of Weekly Shonen Jump on sale Nov. 10, with Chapter 700 being the conclusion. This final, appropriately wonderful chapter spans 24 pages in full color. Make sure to check out just what the last scene is like.

Though its serialization has ended, Naruto will continue onward in various forms. Along with the conclusion, it has been revealed in Issue 50 of Weekly Shonen Jump that author Kishimoto is working on a new short-term serialization for spring 2015 tentatively titled Naruto. Details are unknown, but it seems like the series will be expressed in a new form. Now it’s a waiting game for detailed information to be revealed.

Also, the “Naruto Shinjidai Kaimaku Project” has started. One portion of the project is the theatrical anime The Last: Naruto the Movie releasing in Japan this year. It has been announced that the movie will tell a story that comes after the manga’s conclusion.

Moreover, a large-scale exhibit will be held in 2015 the title of which is “End of Serialization Commemoration: Masashi Kishomoto’s Naruto Exhibit.” It has been revealed that this will be held in Tokyo and Osaka, Tokyo in spring and Osaka in summer. It seems the fiery season of Naruto will continue into next year too.
