A special collaboration illustration that crosses over publishers and anime companies called “Join Us, Friends”––which was created as the second “public awareness” campaign by MAG Project (Manga-Anime Guardians Project), a project that seeks to protect Japan’s treasured manga and anime all over the world and to create works of even better quality––has achieved 1 million Joins and is now available as a wallpaper download.
With the purpose of being publicity for anime and manga, “Join Us, Friends” essentially creates a bridge and brings together publishers and anime companies that compete in the marketplace with each other. As a symbol of this, this special illustration crosses over works to bring together popular characters from five series: One Piece, Naruto, Sword Art Online, Detective Conan, and Attack on Titan.
The illustration evolved through manga and anime fans showing their love by hitting the Join button (no limit), with each character appearing one by one to ultimately become a truly unique illustration. The illustration began as a cafe scene with main characters Luffy, Naruto, Conan, Eren, and Kirito, and it ended up a gorgeous work with 20 characters in all including Mikasa, Sakura Haruno, Chopper, and Kaito Kid.
