Shokotan aka Shoko Nakagawa, who “greedily” takes part in all kinds of activities such as singing, show MCing, voice acting, acting, and producing the fashion brand mmts, has embarked on her tour “Shoko Nakagawa Live Tour 2014 ‘Donyoku Kakumei (Greed Revolution)’” on Oct. 12.

During the Tokyo performance, the hall was filled with cosplayers and people wearing Shokotan’s concert merchandise, that is, pink clothes. She made a vigorous entrance on the stage, shouting, “Let’s live with all we’ve got, let’s live through all this!”, then started with her first song, “9lives.” She performed a total of 21 songs, including her cover of “JoJo -Sono Chi no Unmei-,” the opening theme of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, “Sorairo Days,” the opening of Gurren Lagann, and the encore. Animated rock songs followed after one another right from the start, keeping the hall on fire. Even Shokotan herself had to say, “It was me who composed the setlist, but it’s a bit too intense.”
Since Shokotan is an otaku, her speech is full of Internet slang and unique expressions, such as, “This setlist costs a lot of HP, doesn’t it,” and, “Usually I’m absolutely masochistic, but today, just for your sakes, I’ll become the sadist!” She even made the audience do squats: “Hey, there’s not enough greed, that’s 10 squats for you!” The sound of laughter didn’t stop for a minute.
At the final encore, she revealed a song titled “Dori Dori,” the new ending theme of Pokémon: XY that started airing on Oct. 16. The lyrics were themed around Serena’s (a character appearing in the series) “finding a dream and running towards it” attitude, but Shokotan also added her own feelings: “We only have one life, and since it’s limited, those who dream are the winners!” The choreography of the song was the same Serena did in the video, and Shokotan directly taught part of it to the audience, making the fast-learning, greedy fans go crazy. Shokotan will reach level 30 in 2015, and she already announced her level 30 birthday party, “Level 30 Cho Donyoku Matsuri” (Level 30 Super Greed Festival, tentative title). We can’t wait to see how greedy a performance she can show us!
