Prince of Tennis Movie to Screen Two Different Cuts!

The Prince of Tennis franchise's latest anime film, Ryoma! Shinsei Gekijoban Tennis no Oji-sama, will be screened in two different versions when it hits theaters this September!

The “Decide” cut will include appearances from Seigaku Captain Kunimitsu Tezuka and Rikkai captain Seiichi Yukimura, while “Glory” will show Hyotei captain Keigo Atobe and Shitenhoji captain Kuranosuke Shiraishi. Both versions will include scenes that are unique to each cut.

In addition to a new poster, a visual of a new character named Emerald has also been revealed. Played by Romi Park, she is part of the “tennis gang” that Ryoma encounters in the US.

Ryoma! Shinsei Gekijoban Tennis no Oji-sama takes place in the three-month gap between the end of The Prince of Tennis and the beginning of The New Prince of Tennis, during which Ryoma travels to the United States for training along with classmate Sakuno Ryuzaki. However, they soon find themselves in the past at a time when his father was making a name for himself as "Samurai Nanjiro" in the tennis world.

Ryoma! Shinsei Gekijoban Tennis no Oji-sama opens at cinemas across Japan on Sept. 3.
