Fairy Tail’s Mashima Hiro Releases First Collected Volume of New Manga Edens Zero

The first collected volume of the new manga by Fairy Tail author Mashima Hiro, Edens Zero, was published on Sept. 14.

Fairy Tail, which concluded serialization in 2017, is a fantasy themed manga which follows the adventures of a powerful dragon slayer and a girl who dreams of joining the Fairy Tail Guild.

His new series Edens Zero is currently running in Monthly Shonen Magazine. A fantasy adventure manga, it follows the hero Shiki Granbell, a boy who lives surrounded by animatronics in the Granbell Kingdom. One day he encounters the planet’s first visitors in 100 years - a girl called Rebecca and her cat Happy, who record videos to upload online.

To celebrate the release of the first collected volume of the manga, Mashima will be signing 100 copies at Shibuya Tsutaya on Oct. 6. Tickets for the signing are available via lottery to customers purchasing a copy of the manga from the store before Sept. 27, 2:00 am. The winners will be announced at 10:00 am on Sept. 28 on the Shibuya Tsutaya blog, Twitter, and in store.

The limited edition of the manga will come with a bonus 32-page booklet, which includes previously unseen special manga Survival and settings, plus five postcards featuring original illustrations.
