15,000 spectators at Odaiba’s gorgeous Kaihin Koen enjoyed the fireworks spectacle of a lifetime on May 26 at STAR ISLAND 2018!
The event title came from its location, STAR ISLAND at Tokyo Odaiba. Having been held successfully for the first time in the year before, it should come as no surprise that tickets were quickly sold out.
These futuristic fireworks were designed with the purpose of sharing traditional Japanese fireworks culture with the world. Paired with modern technology like 3D sound and incredible lighting, they were viewed from various types of seats, giving each attendee a different yet unforgettable experience.
Attendees also enjoyed performances of all sorts of different genres, inspired by the themes "Earth", "World", "Chaos" and "Love". Music ranged from pop and rock to dance music, with popular artists and DJs like Okino Shuya (Kyoto Jazz Massive) and Osawa Shinichi (Mondo Grosso) in attendance. In addition, a beautiful string trio titled the STAR ISLAND Special Sunset Ensemble made its debut.
