Gintama Live Action Sequel Teases Mysterious New Character!

The upcoming live action Gintama sequel film has released another key visual, this time of a mysterious unnamed character!

The actor behind the mystery role is Satou Jirou, who has had experience in other live action projects such as Daily Lives of High School Boys and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Most importantly, he also played Henpeita Takechi in the first Gintama live action film, a completely different character to the one that is now being teased.

The main cast (Oguri Shun, Suda Masaki, and Hashimoto Kanna) will also be returning for the sequel, but unlike Satou, they will play their previous roles.

The first live action film adaptation of Gintama premiered on Jul. 14, 2017, with the final count for box office revenue sitting at around 3.84 billion yen.

Gintama 2 (tentative title) premieres in Japan on Aug. 17, 2018.
