Traditional Artisans Create Evangelion-Inspired Umbrellas!

Maehara Koei Shoten is high-class umbrella manufacturer which has been in business for 70 years, and they’re drawing on that experience for an amazing Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration!

Inspired by the Evangelion keyword “hope”, the artisans have created six different designs based on the Evangelion units themselves, as well as Rei and Asuka versions.

Third Impact Version (Purple / Yellow / Black / Light Green)

Evangelion Unit-00 Model (Black / White / Yellow / Steel Gray)

Evangelion Unit-01 Model (Purple / Yellow / Black / Light Green)

Evangelion Unit-02 Model (Red / White / Yellow / Black)

Ayanami Rei Model (Light Blue / Yellow / White / Black)

Soryu Asuka Langley Model (Red / Black / Green / Orange)

The meticulous amount of detail that went into each design makes them as great for display as they are functional.

Online preorders begin on Mar. 20, shipping expected to begin on Apr. 14. The umbrellas will also be available at several physical stores including Nihombashi Mitsukoshi, Hankyu Men’s Osaka, Hankyu Men’s Tokyo, Ginza Wako, Shinjuku Takashimaya, and Kokura Izutsuya.
