Residents in the Saga prefecture of Japan have already started celebrating the 1000th episode of Pokemon, which airs on Nov. 26~!
All sorts of fun events are popping up between now and the beginning of next year, perfect for both kids and adults! For starters, the Saga International Balloon Festival lasts from Nov. 1 to Nov. 5, which is where fans should go if they want to spot a giant hot air balloon with Meowth’s face on it, plus plenty of other amazing ones!
Cats don’t like to be airborne for too long, though. Once Meowth lands, fans are more than welcome to come say hi and take all the pictures they need.
An awesome photo spot will also be available for those who love all the deliciously devious organizations of Pokemon, like Team Rocket! From Oct. 31 to Jan. 8, 2018, the infamous red “R” will be on display and lit up so all Team Rocket members can gather for exciting night time photoshoots. (It’ll be present during the daytime too, but Team Rocket probably operates better at night.)
Speaking of becoming members of Team Rocket, fans can find out whether they’re grunts or mid-level managers with the Team Rocket Enrollment Examination! Until Nov. 26, adults and kids alike can take a Pokemon Sun & Moon quiz to see exactly where they land in the Team Rocket organizational chart.
On the day of Pokémon's 1000th episode, Nov. 26, 1000 people will be dressed up as giant Pikachus! Plus, the lone Meowth will be making an appearance. The first 1000 people to show up and try and “catch that Pikachu” will receive an original Team Rocket shirt!
More than anything, this event is celebrating the villainous and sometimes inept organization that is Team Rocket, which doesn’t happen too often! So for those who are in the area and have a soft spot for James, Jessie, Meowth, Giovanni, and all the other members, this is an event that you won’t want to miss~
