Mob Psycho 100 to Get Live Action Drama with Hamada Tatsuomi as Kageyama Shigeo!

Mob Psycho 100 is getting a live action drama adaptation starring Hamada Tatsuomi as protagonist Kageyama Shigeo! Hamada debuted as a child actor in 2006 and currently plays the lead role in Ultraman Geed.

Based on the ongoing web manga by ONE (the creator of One Punch Man), Mob Psycho 100 follows Kageyama Shigeo, who is nicknamed Mob for his laid-back personality and lack of presence but is in fact a powerful esper. Mob joins the Body Improvement Club to become popular and impress his childhood friend and crush Tsubomi-chan, but instead of the average life he so craves, he gets involved in one psychic fight after another!

Mob Psycho 100 is being serialized on Shogakukan’s manga app “MangaOne” and the online magazine Ura Sunday. The series also received an anime adaptation airing from July to September 2016.

The drama series is produced by TV Tokyo and Toei Video, written by Yoshida Reiko and Kunii Kei, and directed by Sakamoto Koichi, who also works with Hamada on Ultraman Geed. In addition, producer Kobayashi Fuminori revealed that the series will be focusing on the psychic battles through the use of tokusatsu and visual effects.

Mob Psycho 100 will air from January 2018 on late Thursday nights on TV Tokyo’s “MokuDora 25” and Tuesday nights on BS Japan. Netflix will also distribute the series starting from next January. Stay tuned for more info on the cast!
