On Sept. 8, the final arc of Takeuchi Naoko’s Sailor Moon was reimagined as a beautiful stage play called “Musical Sailor Moon -Le Movement Final-"!
On opening day, “Le Movement Finale” dazzled fans with a public costume rehearsal and lovely music before the real show began. The final arc begins with the appearance of Sailor Galaxia (played by Isuzu Koko) and her group of Sailor Senshi, the Sailor Animamates. Determined to expand her empire Shadow Galactica, and rule over the galaxy, she’s come to take “Star Seeds” from every human and Sailor Senshi.
Arguably the most tragic and heart-pounding arc of Sailor Moon to date, it also captivates fans the appearance of so many new and mysterious Sailor Senshi.
Sailor Star Fighter (played by Harukawa Meiku), Sailor Star Maker (played by Tatemichi Riona), and Sailor Star Healer (played by Matsuda Sakii) also make appearances in the final arc, commanding the stage with their strong but elegant singing voices.
The desperate yet mysterious Sailor Cosmos will naturally make an appearance as well. She’ll be played by actress Ookubo Satomi, which played Sailor Moon in stage plays from 2013 to 2015.
The breaktaking performance, which even includes a super cute dance by Chibi Chibi (played by Yamaguchi Hinari), will be performed at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo until Sept. 18. After that, “Musical Sailor Moon -Le Movement Final-” will have brief stints at Aiplaza Toyohashi and Umeda Arts Theater before the curtain settles.
