New Persona 5 Anime Adaptation Airing in 2018!

A new anime adaptation of the recent Persona 5 game was announced on July 30!

The announcement was made at the Katayanagi Arena for a special Persona event. In 2016, the game received one 30-minute anime episode that premiered before the release of the game; however, Persona 5 the Animation will be a full-length TV anime series.

It will air sometime in 2018, with A-1 Pictures handling the animation, though a concrete date hasn’t been announced yet. The only other details known so far is that the cast from the game will be returning as the same characters in the anime as listed below.

Fukuyama Jun (as Protagonist)
Mizuki Nana (as Takamaki Ann)
Miyano Mamoru (as Sakamoto Ryuji)
Ootani Ikue (as Morgana)
Satou Rina (as Nijima Makoto)
Sugita Tomokazu (as Kitagawa Yusuke)
Yuuki Aoi (as Sakura Futaba)
Tomatsu Haruka (as Okumura Haru)
Hoshi Souichirou (as Akechi Goro)

Persona 5 released in Sept. 2016 for Japan, though eager gamers worldwide were only able to get their hands on it starting Apr. 2017. The newest installation in the RPG series has shipped out over 1.5 million games internationally.

Considering the amount of Persona TV anime series, this newest adaptation comes as no surprise, but is definitely still something to look forward to. Fans have a couple of months before the series debuts, so be sure to finish the game before then!
