All aboard the Yu-Gi-Oh! Express Train! It may have begun running in September 1996, but it’s not looking to head for its final stop anytime soon! Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, the sixth anime spinoff from the original series, is gearing up for its spring 2017 release with a new main visual and protagonist reveal!
VRAINS was initially announced in December 2016 at the Jump Festival 2016. This time around, the story centers around protagonist Fujiki Yusaku, a quiet yet talented hacker who simply wants to be left to his own devices.
Unlike some of the series before it, VRAINS will feature action in both the real and virtual world. Fujiki himself duels using a VR world, where he’s known as his account name “The Playmaker.” As a protagonist, Fujiki will almost seem like two different characters, as his VR self is different in hairstyle, hair color, and clothing.
