Sword Art Online is collaborating with Tokyu Hands on the project “Tokyu Hands x Sword Art Online -Climb the Hands-” to commemorate the upcoming Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale hitting theaters in Japan on Feb. 18!
The chosen campaign characters are none other than Asuna, Silica, and Lisbeth, who will also be featured as Tokyu Hands staff, along with other original goods inspired by items and icons in the series, such as a trading sticker collection, clear files, or the “i+ 3-way Pen,” a collaboration with the customizable i+ pen series by Pentel. Moreover, customers who buy at least ¥1,000 worth of original goods will get presented with a special bookmark (randomly chosen from three kinds)!
During the campaign (Jan. 28 to March 5), a few Tokyu Hands stores will be displaying life-size character panels drawn for the occasion. In addition, the Shibuya store will open a gallery featuring 60 famous scenes from 49 episodes of the anime series on the stairway walls, giving customers a chance to review the story before watching the movie.
The official smartphone app will be participating in the campaign, as well. All stores will be equipped with the new “AR Collection” spot check function, and visitors can get their hands on a specially drawn limited edition frame (only available through the campaign period) to create unique photos. The frames are also different in each store, so there’s a good idea for a trip!
