Does the name Akira Amano sound familiar? It should if you’re a fan of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and elDLIVE, considering she’s the manga artist that created those series!
Starting Jan. 20, an exhibition called “New Amano in Kyoto” will be held at the Kyoto University of Art and Design, all to celebrate the start of the anime broadcast of Akira’s newest work elDLIVE.
■ About elDLIVE
*elDLIVE*, which is currently the most popular serialization in Shonen Jump+, follows the story of a middle schooler named Chuta Kokonose who has heard a voice no one else could hear his entire life - a voice that makes him begin to think he’s just crazy…but instead means that he is destined for greatness! His normal life takes a complete turn when an alien recruits Chuta into an organization called elDLIVE, where he’ll instill peace and order for other space residents as part of the space police.
This series currently includes seven volumes, plus an official visual book titled Reborn! elDLIVE Character’s 365.
■ Akira Amano’s Profile
Akira is a successful manga artist whose work Katekyo Hitman Reborn! was serialized in Shonen Jump from 2004 to 2012. The series was so popular that it spanned 42 volumes with over 30 million copies printed before going on hiatus. Along with her new work elDLIVE, Akira also handled the original character designs for the series Psycho-Pass. Her official Twitter account is @amano_akira_.
