Part of the G.E.M. series of high quality figures aimed at female fans, this figure depicts Gintoki wearing a suit and posing with his legs crossed. It also comes with glasses, which you can pop on Gin's face to enjoy a sophisticated new look. Pre-orders for the G.E.M. Series Gintama Sakata Gintoki Suit Ver. (Renewal Ver.) with Bonus Glasses figure are open now on Premium Bandai, and the figure retails for ¥10,368 (including tax and shipping, not including handling).
This figure of Sakata Gintoki, the protagonist of Gintama, is from MegaHouse Corporation's G.E.M. collection of 1/8 scale figures aimed to delight female fans. Wearing a black suit and crossing his legs, the usually lazy Gin is looking unusually smart. This figure also comes with glasses, so you can choose whether he should indulge in a little megane-style or not.
It comes with a silver base in the shape of the "Gin" kanji (meaning "silver") from Gintoki's name. His outfit includes a black suit and leather shoes, which he's wearing without any socks (Check out those ankles!). If you attach the glasses that come with the figure, you can enjoy a clever and trustworthy-looking side to Gintoki that you don't often see in the series.
Gin first joined the G.E.M. series in 2014 with the Sakata Gintoki Benizakura Ver. figure for which he's wielding two blades with a fierce expression on his face, but this figure is totally different. This time around, he's looking handsome in the suit that he wears in the anime series during funny scenes or at the end of episodes with that classic smug look on his face. The sculptor of this figure, Mokamaru (MIC), also worked on the Gintoki Sakata Benizakura Ver. figure, while the painting is by TC, who has worked on every Gintama figure in the G.E.M. series so far. This talented duo have captured a mature side to him that's different to both the usual lazy Gintoki and the caring Gintoki who everyone relies on during battles.
