Masamune-kun’s Revenge is a manga currently serialized in Monthly Comic Rex, and its anime adaptation will begin airing next year on Jan. 5.
It will first appear on Tokyo MX before moving onto AT-X on Jan. 7 and BS Fuji on Jan. 8. It will also air on Sun Television and KBS Kyoto.
The revenge comedy follows protagonist Makabe Masamune who transforms from a chubby and clumsy child into a handsome high schooler and his desire for revenge against the beautiful Adagaki Aki for calling him a piggy 8 years prior
Hanae Natsuki will be playing Makabe Masamune, and Ohashi Ayaka will play the main heroine Adagaki Aki.
Following this announcement, Hanae released a statement saying, “I thought this seemed like a fun series during the audition. I’ll do my best during recording so everyone can enjoy it even more, so look forward to it airing!”
Koiwai Yoshino, who’s always by Aki’s side, will be played by Minase Inori, and the wealthy Fujinomiya Neko will be played by Mimori Suzuko.
Tadokoro Azusa will play the helpful class committee chairman Futaba Tae, and Masamune’s classmate Shuri Kojuro will be played by Hayami Saori.
In addition to the cast, the performing artists for the themes were also announced. In addition to playing Adagaki Aki, Ohashi will be performing the opening theme.
The single is planned to go on sale Jan. 18. 2 versions will be available including the Ayaka Disc, which features Ohashi as the central visual, and an Aki Disc which features Adagaki Aki.
ChouCho, known for her songs from Hyouka and Girls und Panzer, has been chosen to perform the ending theme
