It begins with Aoi Sakura, played by former AKB48 Team A member Kawaei Rina, standing in the middle of a havoc-filled Shibuya. It then introduces the Death Note Counter-Measure Headquarters Special Team and its leader, Mishima Tsukuru (played by Higashide Masahiro). It’s also packed with clips of Ikematsu Sosuke as L’s successor, as well as a shot of a mysteriously Shinigami-like character.
Death Note: Light Up the New World will be opening across Japan on Oct. 29. If you happen to be in Japan and are planning on buying your ticket in advance, then you’ll also have a chance to receive a special Limited Edition Memorial File! It includes the poster visual from the 2006 live action film Death Note, as well as the teaser visual for this latest entry in the series!
