Among the various anime popular series that aired the previous season, Osomatsu-san was undoubtedly one of them. Although the series finished airing in March 2016, its astounding popularity showed no signs of slowing down. With the success of previous events and a myriad of merchandise, yet another a new product has been announced that will excite many fans. The second of the sixtuplets, Karamasu, is having his most fashionable and iconic accessory - his sunglasses - made!
Karamatsu is the second member amongst the sixtuplets sons of the Matsuno family. While all six share the same (ok, similar) face, each has their own distinctive personality. Karamatsu is the narcissistic of the six who has delusions about having female fans he lovingly refers to as “Karamatsu Girls”. Not only is he a painfully embarrassing character at times, he has an “impressive” sense of fashion. His signature outfit consists of a black leather jacket, a tank top with his face on it, a belt with a skull buckle, and of course, his iconically cool sunglasses.
The sunglasses to be released are modelled after those in the animated series: black and sharp in design. The glasses are being produced by the well-known frame manufacturer, Yamamori Megane based in Sabae, Fukai Prefecture.
The glasses features unique and amazing craftsmanship of a single lense and no frame, engraved with Karamatsu’s name along with the pine (“matsu”) symbol and the skull that Karamatsu wears on his belt.
The glasses will include a cleaning cloth featuring Karamatsu’s face as is seen in the tank top he wears. Definitely a bonus to look forward to that will make fans happy!
Pre-orders will start at the Premium Bandai online shop in April 26 for the price of 11,340 yen (about USD$101) with release scheduled for August.
