“Super Lovers” TV Anime Broadcasts from April; Cast Includes Tomoaki Maeno, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Takuma Terashima

Miyuki Abe’s manga Super Lovers is getting a TV anime. Broadcasts will begin in April 2016.

A teaser visual has been posted to the official site which opened on Dec. 25. An event for the anime is also planned for AnimeJapan 2016 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in March which will features members of the cast and color production materials. Major news has been revealed in one fell swoop.

The highlight above all this time is the wonderful voice cast lineup. Popular, talented actors have been lined up for the four hunky Kaido brothers. Tomoaki Maeno is voicing the eldest brother, Haru Kaido; Yoshitsugu Matsuoka is voicing Aki Kaido, the second youngest brother; Takuma Terashima is voicing Shima Kaido, the third youngest brother; and Junko Minagawa is voicing Ren Kaido, the youngest brother. A highlight will be how they play these highly idiosyncratic characters.

In addition to these four, there is also luxurious voice talent for the supporting characters as well. Ayumu Murase is voicing Ikuyoshi Sasaki, a former co-worker when Haru was a host; and Jun Fukushima is voicing Juzen Kurosaki, a classmate of Ren’s. Even these members are likely to draw many curious fans to Super Lovers.

Super Lovers is the stand-out work of Miyuki Abe who has gained popularity with female manga fans for such series as Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East. The series is a turbulent love story that follows a group of brothers—Haru and twins Aki and Shima—and a youngest brother who isn’t related by blood, Ren. Directing the anime is Shinji Ishihara, the series composer is Yoshiko Nakamura, and the character designer is Miki Takihara. Studio Deen is producing the anime.

With all this revealed, Super Lovers is becoming more and more interesting, and huge excitement will come before the broadcast in the form of a stage event at AnimeJapan 2016. The “Super Lovers Special Stage in Spring” event will take place from 11:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 27. Cast members will take the stage for a talk session and the newest visuals from the anime will be introduced. Check the recently opened official site for more details.
