The figure which is based on the DVD cover for the TV anime Nisemonogatari will be released as a limited edition through Aniplex’s direct sale website, Aniplex+. It’s a cute design which features the popular character Shinobu Oshino surrounded by donuts.
The Aniplex+ limited edition 1/8th scale Shinobu Oshino figure is based on the illustration from the third volume of the Nisemonogatari Blu-ray/DVD, Karen Bee Third Part. It’s a super-cute figure with Shinobu enjoying a bath in a bathtub filled with donuts.
The bathtub has all kinds of donuts and the water outside of it is finished with clear plastic too. Little details like the palm trees and ducks are also a nice touch.
The total height is approx. 10.5 centimeters, the total length approx. 22.5 centimeters, and the width approx. 12 centimeters, so it feels like a good size figure. Even if you’re not a Nisemonogatari fan, you’re going to want to have this figure on display!
The figure retails for 14,040 yen (tax included) and preorders are open until Feb. 14, 2016 with the release date set for October 2016.
Also, the animation studio behind Nisemonogatari, Shaft, is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and a special commemorative exhibition titled Madogatari opened on Nov. 27 at 3331 Arts Chiyoda, Akihabara, Tokyo. A painted sample of the 1/8th scale Shinobu Oshino figure was unveiled at the exhibition for the first time and attendees were able to confirm the high quality of the craftsmanship right down to the smallest details.
The TV anime adaptation of Nisemonogatari, which is based on the popular novel by Nisio Isin, aired from January to March 2012. The latest addition to the franchise, Owarimonogatari is currently being broadcast, and the first part of the Kizumonogatari theatrical movie, Tekketsu-hen, is set to open on Jan. 8, 2016.
