Volume 2 of the collaboration between the Sword Art Online anime series and Heart-Up, a specialty store of contact lenses and glasses, has been unveiled. Customers can make reservations for “Sword Art Online PC Frames” on Heart-Up’s online shop from Dec. 1. Volume 1 of the same collaboration was so popular it sold out almost immediately, and it seems volume 2 will be no different: They are indispensable items for fans.
“Sword Art Online PC Frames” express the anime’s world through glasses frames. The lineup includes six different designs in total, each of which is based on the individualistic traits and story of its respective character.
The protagonist Kirito has two models, the “Aincrad Arc Special Version” which was also featured in volume 1 and the “Calibur Arc Version.” Both of them use black, Kirito’s image color, as the keynote, resulting in a stylish impression. Similarly, there is an “Aincrad Arc Special Version” and a “Fairy Dance Arc Version” for the heroine Asuna, too. These set red and pink as the keynote, expressing her beauty and strength. They have a very feminine atmosphere. The remaining two are the Yuuki and Leafa models which weren’t included in the volume 1 lineup. With Yuuki’s being purple and Leafa’s being green, it’s as if the makers were imitating the characters’ outfits.
All models come with a limited edition original design microfiber cloth. They also include limited edition cleaning soft cases which weren’t in volume 1. These are made of microfiber and can also be used as a case for the glasses. What’s more, customers also get a discount coupon for exchanging the original lenses for prescription lenses; all you have to do is take it to a Heart-Up glasses store and have them changed.
The complete box containing all six models is also part of the lineup. Only for the complete box, customers are presented with two kinds of cleaning cloths and one cleaning soft case. The illustration showing the heroines in Christmas costumes turned out very cute.
Reservations will be accepted between 5 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 8 on Heart-Up’s iCare Store on Rakuten. Sales start from 5 p.m. on Dec. 10 on Heart-Up’s online shop and Heart-Up’s Rakuten iCare Store.
In the 10 days between Dec. 12 and 21, the glasses can also be purchased in Heart-Up Kyowa’s Ikebukuro store, Omiya store, Sakaechika store, Nagoya Esca store, Yodobashi Umeda store, and Okayama store. One pair costs ¥5,680 while the complete box is ¥34,080 (taxes and postal fee included).
