“Boruto: Naruto the Movie” Post-Opening Celebrations Held in LA! Hero Performs!

On Oct. 16, Eleven Arts hosted post-opening special events in celebration of all Naruto fans who have been supporting “Boruto: Naruto the Movie, which had a great box-office opening the weekend prior in the U.S. and Canada.

As part of the special events, Hero (a.k.a Hiroka “Hero” McRae), a dancer from the champion crew of MTV America's Best Dance Crew (Season 4), performed a tribute dance for Naruto before a showing of the film. Her uplifting dance enthralled moviegoers and they showered her with generous applause. After the show, in the lobby, Anime Jungle, a Hobby Shop in downtown LA, sold the latest Naruto merchandise including Naruto and Sasuke figures that just recently released in Japan. There was also a double feature event on the following day. The films The Last: Naruto the Movie and Boruto: Naruto the Movie where shown. Merchandise was also available from Anime Jungle at the screening.

In spite of its limited release (125 theaters in the U.S., 10 in Canada) and only being shown once a day, the movie has done extremely well in its opening box office. As of Oct. 20, 138 theaters have accumulated $370,325.74 from ticket sales. Fans keep requesting more screenings and for screenings to be held at their local theater via the Eleven Arts Facebook page, so another 10 theaters will be added next week.

About Hiroka "Hero" McRae
Hero is an international entertainer born and raised in Hokkaido, Japan. At the age of 17, she developed a passion for music and dancing. She has performed on various Japanese TV shows and commercials as well as won several dance competitions. Her rise to fame was sparked from being the lead dancer for the Earth Wind & Fire Japan Tour in 2004.

In 2007, Hero moved to LA. The combination of her Japanese style and soulfulness has made her an international success. Her dance crew became the first ever all-female crew to win MTV America's Best Dance Crew (Season 4, 2009).

After winning, she performed on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Ellen Degeneres Show (three times), and Disney Channel’s Lab Rats. She also auditioned for FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance (Season 8). Furthermore, she participated in MTV’s ABDC All Stars Road to the VMAs and is also going to participate in MTV’s VMA Japan, special workshop tours, and more radio shows.

She has traveled to many countries to dance including France, China, Canada, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Additionally, she’s danced professionally alongside several entertainers including Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Rita Ora, Sean Kingston, Bobby Valentino, Kirstie Alley, and Fonzworth Bentley.

In 2013, Hero created a Las Vegas show called "Electric Geisha" for DJ Steve Aoki to be performed at the Hakkasan Nightclub in the MGM Grand Hotel and has even further expanded her career with acting. She’s become a radio host and guest reporter for FOX Japan together with Glee star Harry Shum Jr.

In 2014, Hero was cast for and choreographed the music video for "Come on to Me" by Major Lazer (feat. Sean Paul) in which she fuses Caribbean and geisha styles. On YouTube, the video has over 38 million views. She’s also become a female hype woman at concerts in Japan and Japan Expo in San Mateo.

In 2015, Hero wrote her first magazine article for an American Japanese magazine as well as was featured in the magazine Lalala.

Hero has made an original dance style called "Be a Hero" which is a mixture of Asian and Western urban styles that will surely become a universal language to bring love, peace, and free-mindedness to the world.
